If you wanted lower wattage you could just pull out 2 of the power tubes since you're running fixed bias in that amp (2 opposite ones, so that you've still got one tube on either side of the phase inverter).

WebJul 10, 2010 · One thing that should be a given is to remove the high voltage taps that go to the terminals on the back panel. Those things are like Death Waiting To Happen, or at least a nasty bite. UL Labs must have been out back getting high when that amp rolled through for inspection. On a $50/each amplifier!) is not frightening, converting to fix-bias would give about 7%-10% more plate voltage, 15%-20% more output power (and plate heat). This is at most 0.8dB "louder", which is not going to turn sadness into joy.
